Just over 30 kilometers away, young people from São Tomé and Príncipe study at vocational schools in Vouzela and Castro Daire, without knowing one another.
The project “A Stranger from Our Land” was designed to complement the vocational training of young people from São Tomé and Príncipe who are studying and living in the Beira subregion of Viseu Dão-Lafões, in the towns of Vouzela and Castro Daire, by fostering relationships among the young people and with the communities where they live, in order to facilitate their integration and coexistence beyond school life.

Following a weekly program of memory and expression exercises, conducted in two parallel groups in Vouzela and Castro Daire, the combined results will be presented in two performances open to the public: on April 29 at 3:00 p.m. at the Castro Daire Municipal Auditorium, and on April 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the João Ribeiro Cinema-Theater in Vouzela.

A project supported by the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth, and Sports | Directorate-General for the Arts and integrated into the activities of the Tramontana Network, co-financed by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.
