LABORATORIO DI MUSICA CONTADINA DI COLOGNOLE I
Weekly music workshop
Circolo Culturale Contadino di Colognole
Pontassieve, Florence, Italy
September 2025 – May 2026
This is an initiative of La Leggera as part of the “Creative Europe Tramontana IV” project.
This video documents the weekly workshop on the repertoires and styles of traditional peasant and mountain dance music, held from September 2025 to May 2026. Open to all ages and to a variety of instruments, the ensemble workshop was led by Marco Magistrali using the “by ear” method.
The aim was to pass on and share oral knowledge of the dance music heritage of eastern Tuscany. The study materials come from La Leggera’s field research and from its research centre and archive, LASCITO (Social Archive of the Intangible Culture of Eastern Tuscany).
