THE TIME OF THINGS
Communitarian Sound and Multimedia Project
Civil Parish of Calde (Viseu, Portugal)

A production by Binaural Nodar, in partnership with the Municipality of Viseu, through the Linen Museum of Várzea de Calde, with the Civil Parish Council of Calde and part of the European project Tramontana Network, co–funded by the Creative Europe program.
Since last October, the fieldwork for the third edition of the project “O Tempo das Coisas” (The Time of Things) has been in progress, expressing the relationship between objects with affective value and the life of rural communities in the parish of Calde, both in relation to tradition and to the social changes of recent decades.
These objects tell micro-stories with high symbolic value: of connection to the land, of the memory of ancestors, and of each person’s life experiences. They are bridges between the past and the present, between what has been left behind and the personal and social narratives that remain in the memory of communities.
After completing the fieldwork in the various villages of the civil parish of Calde, this edition of The Time of Things will culminate in a multimedia exhibition, to be opened in the first quarter of 2026.
