Revive & Tramontana – Exploring Europe’s Cultural Heritage
Province of Teramo, Italy
October 2nd 2024
On 2 October 2024, LEM-Italia and ITACA for Local Development will welcome a delegation of Norwegian university students for an engaging workshop centred on two projects co-funded by the Creative Europe programme: Revive and Tramontana IV.
Revive focuses on urban regeneration through cultural and creative industries, while Tramontana IV is dedicated to collecting, cataloguing, and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of rural and mountain areas. The workshop will provide a valuable platform for reflection and exchange on how these two initiatives can intersect and collaborate within local communities.
Participants will explore ways to connect oral traditions with the tangible heritage of public spaces—such as squares, churches, and abandoned buildings—with the aim of fostering cultural revitalisation and encouraging local engagement. The event is expected to highlight the importance of involving communities in processes that value both memory and creativity as essential tools for sustainable development.
This meeting will represent a significant step in reinforcing cooperation among cultural stakeholders and advancing a living, shared European heritage through innovative, community-led approaches.
