An event organized by Bambun APS as part of the Tramontana Network project.
As part of the cultural anthropology course taught by Prof. Gianfranco Spitilli, Emanuele Di Paolo, an anthropologist, the president of Bambun APS, and the author of numerous studies and publications on the intangible cultural heritage of the Apennines, will lead a scholarly seminar. His work focuses on the relationship between humans, animals, and the natural world, cultural practices concerning wood, the landscape, and the use of plant resources, and festivals that offer various degrees and forms of heritage preservation.
The societies of the Apennines have developed a vast and complex system of social, cultural, and economic exchanges with strong symbolic value. These exchanges take differentiated material and ritual forms adapted to economic strategies and the relationships established within the communities, which are subject to evident processes of depopulation and abandonment.
The seminar will include audiovisual, photographic, and audio materials collected during an intensive research project conducted since 2021 as part of the European Tramontana Network project.
