National Museum of Music
Mafra, Portugal
3 November 2026, from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm
Binaural Nodar is taking part in the 3rd Euterpe Network Conference at the National Museum of Music in Mafra. Luís Costa, coordinator of Binaural Nodar, will present the paper: ‘A REGIONAL SOUND AND AUDIOVISUAL ARCHIVE IN THE LIGHT OF THE OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF ITS INTEROPERABILITY’
The presentation deals with the integration of Binaural Nodar Digital Archive in the context of Tramontana Network archives and forms part of Panel 1: Documentation, archives and digitisation (10.20–11.20), moderated by Ana Botas (National Museum of Music), alongside Vicente Fino (Casa de Bragança Museum and Library), Sílvia Sequeira (National Library of Portugal) and Márcia Costa (Oliveira do Bairro Municipal Council).
Organised and coordinated by the National Museum of Music, the Euterpe Network is an informal and open platform that brings together public and private organisations holding sound and music collections, with a view to sharing knowledge and developing joint projects.
The programme for the event also includes a participatory assessment of the Network, a panel discussion on collections, spaces and outreach, the talk ‘Between the display case and the concert’ on the conservation, construction and performance of sound objects, and a technical tour of the museum.
