COMMON LANDS: PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE
Meeting-Debate
November 8th
Tendais Multipurpose Pavilion (Cinfães, Portugal)

Binaural Nodar was one of the co-organizers of the meeting-debate Common Lands: Past, Present and Future, held on November 8 as part of the Tendais Chestnut Fair, together with the Association for the Defense and Promotion of the Parish of Tendais, AEPGA, Palombar, the LIFE SOS Pygargus Project, and the Creative Europe Tramontana Network project.

During the meeting, which proposed a joint reflection on the history and future challenges for common lands, the coordinator of Binaural Nodar, Luís Costa, and anthropologist Ana Rodríguez referred to the need for a more assertive incorporation into the agendas of local communities of common lands of environmental dimensions, conservation of tangible and intangible heritage dimensions, together with new sensibilities and expressions, as well as the diversification of productive aspects, beyond timber extraction, in the areas of cereal production, grazing, etc.

This meeting was the result of collaboration between different local, cultural, and scientific partners, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to rethinking the future of common lands. It will continue with a series of meetings and events that combine nature, culture, and innovation in the inland mountains.
