This is an initiative of Eth Ostau Comengés as part of the “Creative Europe Tramontana IV” project.

After the raftsmen, the January Apéro Histoire[s] at La Cafetière, with Marc Galy and Matiu Fauré, turned to the boats of the Garonne. In past centuries, when roads were poor, the river offered an irreplaceable transport route for goods from the Pyrenees to Toulouse. From Cazères onwards, traffic towards Toulouse practically doubled, as boats joined the rafts. Which boats, how did they navigate and what did they carry? These were the questions discussed in a relaxed atmosphere with the 13 people present.
