An event organized by Bambun APS as part of the Tramontana Network project.

A scholarly seminar was led by Emanuele Di Paolo, an anthropologist, president of Bambun APS and the author of numerous studies and publications on the intangible cultural heritage of the Apennines.

This seminar was part of the cultural anthropology course taught by Prof. Gianfranco Spitilli. Di Paolo’s work focuses on the relationship between humans, animals, and the natural world; cultural practices concerning wood, the landscape, and the use of plant resources; and festivals that offer various degrees and forms of heritage preservation.

The Apennine society developed a complex system of exchanges with strong symbolic value. These exchanges take different forms, and are subject to depopulation and abandonment.

The seminar also included audiovisual, photographic, and audio materials collected during an intensive research project conducted since 2021 as part of the European Tramontana Network project.
