TRAINING IS A GAME, A GAME IS EMOTION
Photography exhibition by Nely Ferreira

On June 26, the Lamego multipurpose pavilion hosted the opening of Nely Ferreira’s photography exhibition, a production by Binaural Nodar in collaboration with the Lamego Futsal Club, as part of the European project Rede Tramontana, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.

Starting with a youth team of boys (in 2025 the project had focused on a senior women’s team), this project centred on the process of identity formation at a crucial stage of personal development, exploring the moment when futsal ceases to be merely a game and begins to play a significant role in the athletes’ development.

As with the previous edition, the project included photographs and audio recordings from training sessions and matches, as well as interviews with players and the coaching staff, seeking to understand how they experience training, what emotions they associate with the game, and what meaning they attach to victory, defeat and their dreams within the sport. The project also explored the parents’ perspective, including their own relationship with sport in their youth and the emotions they experience whilst supporting their children.

Nely Ferreira and Binaural Nodar would like to thank the management of Futsal Clube de Lamego for their willingness to host this artistic project.
