This is an initiative of La Leggera within the Creative Europe Tramontana IV project.
Currently underway, the weekly workshop (September 2025–May 2026) explores the repertoires and styles of traditional peasant and mountain dance music. The ensemble workshop, which is open to all ages and all instruments, is led by Marco Magistrali and is based on a “by ear” learning approach.
The workshop aims to pass on and share the oral traditions of eastern Tuscany’s musical and dance heritage. The study materials are based on field research carried out by the association La Leggera and its research and archive centre, LASCITO (Social Archives of the Intangible Culture of Eastern Tuscany).
