An initiative by La leggera as part of the Creative Europe Tramontana IV project.
“Sù sù boni pastori” was a project developed with Anna Andreotti and Margherita Trefoloni of the “La Maggese” Association in Paris and supported by the Region of Tuscany as part of the celebrations for the 260th anniversary of Peter Leopold of Habsburg-Lorraine’s investiture as Grand Duke of Tuscany.
The project investigated the sacred song repertoire of Tuscany’s oral tradition, focusing on agro-pastoral communities from the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines to the island of Elba.
The Siena event was the project’s first public presentation and included an open rehearsal and the meeting with three traditional singers from Civitella Marittima (Grosseto), followed by a concluding conference and three concerts in December.
