Circolo Culturale Contadino di Colognole
Colognole di Pontassieve (Florence, IT)

Meeting and concert

Organized by La Leggera APS, as part of the Creative Europe Tramontana IV project

Since the 1950s, Tuscany has experienced an influx of migrants from the Tyrrhenian regions of southern Italy. Many families from Basilicata (formerly Lucania) have settled in the countryside, bringing with them a rich agro-pastoral heritage, both tangible and intangible.

During the upcoming initiative, particular attention will be given to the “Musicanti di Bacco”—a family based in the Siena area near San Gimignano—who continue to preserve and practise the musical traditions of Lucanian song and dance.

The event will offer a valuable opportunity to explore and document this history, as well as to experience this living musical heritage first-hand. Participants will have the chance to engage directly with the “Musicanti di Bacco” through live performances, discussions, and informal exchanges that shed light on the transmission of traditional Lucanian music across generations.
