“LA MEMORIA RIDESTATA”: PRESENTATION AU SALOTTO “TERRITOIRES MUSICAUX”. RENCONTRES AVEC LES GARDIENS DE LA TRADITION POPULAIRE

Date: 12 February 2025

Location: Rome, Café of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni (IT)

On Wednesday, 12 February 2025, there will be a presentation of the publication ‘La memoria ridestata. Narrazioni sulla migrazione albanese a Villa Badessa’ by Silvia Pallini, published by the Bambun/Don Nicola Jobbi Study Centre, a research project carried out as part of the Tramontana (I, II, III and Viva Tramontana) and still ongoing (Tramontana IV) within the Albanian community of Villa Badessa in Rosciano (in the province of Pescara, Abruzzo) by the LEM-Italia Association. The presentation took place as part of a programme of four meetings called ‘Territori Musicali’ on the themes of music, song and sound expressions of ethnic otherness, past and present in Italy. The programme of events ‘Territori Musicali’, Salotto al Caffè delle Esposizioni, is organised by the Mediterre APS Association. ‘Salotto Territori Musicali’ is a sensory journey aimed at rediscovering popular traditions through different artistic forms. Folk music, traditional dance, narrative theatre and literature merge into a single immersive experience, where each artist, with their own language and art, contributes to revealing a piece of history, culture and popular sentiment.
