We will meet at La Cafetière in a relaxed atmosphere with Marc Galy and Matiu Fauré. This month, after the raftsmen, we will talk about the barges of the Garonne. In centuries past, when roads were poor, the Garonne offered an irreplaceable transport route for goods from the Pyrenees to Toulouse. From Cazères onwards, traffic to Toulouse practically doubled. Boats were added to the rafts. What boats? How? What did they carry?
