ARTIST RESIDENCY AT THE ARCHIVES
Annagrazia Graduato
June – December 2025

A virtual artist residency project hosted by Bambun APS as part of the Tramontana Network project and winner of a Marta Iannetti Award.
“Letter to Lidia, is an audiovisual project in the form of a letter addressed to a woman, reflecting on memory, landscape, and transformation, through digital archives from the Abruzzo region, in central Italy.

Combining archival materials with an experimental and poetic approach, the project reflects on the transformations and continuities that have shaped the bond between humans and environment in mountain areas, which faced profound ecological and social change.

Rather than simply documenting, Letter to Lidia seeks to evoke — to convey the intimate resonance between people and their surroundings, while blurring the boundaries between reality, imagination, and collective memory. The project reinterprets archival images and sounds to explore practices and ways of life, and the impact of transformation on those who inhabit these landscapes, opening a reflection on the spaces of the masculine and the feminine, from a feminine perspective.”
